Yes. During our upcoming Summer holiday camp, children from all year groups as long as they are aged 5-14 years old are allowed to attend.

Our number one priority ever since we started has been on the welfare of the children in attendance. Of course we now have to consider the added risks posed by Covid-19 and we have decided to restrict attendance to no more than 60 children per day.

Our Covid-19 policy is following the guidance set out by the Government and the Department for Education as can be seen in the following documents.

– Actions for early years and childcare providers during the Coronavirus outbreak.

– Implementing protective measures in education and childcare settings.

– Cleaning of non-healthcare settings.

You can read our full Covid-19 policy by clicking here!

Currently no swimming pools are allowed to open which makes it difficult to know whether we will be able to offer swimming as an activity during the Summer holidays.

We will continue to review the guidance coming from the government and Swim England and if it changes we will then consider whether it is a safe activity to be able to offer those children in attendance who wish to swim.

One of the most important protective measures, and one that is currently adopted by schools across the country, is to put children into pods/groups.

Each child will have to remain within their pod throughout each day, and each pod/group will be required to distance themselves from each other. This means that children will only be able to take part in activities with other children within their pod/group.

Please note that children will be placed into their pod/group based on (a) age (highest priority), and (b) interests (second highest priority if particularly high numbers within one age group)

With the exception of swimming (see above), we will continue to offer all of our amazing activities that also includes our Multi Sports and Activities, Art Club and Kidz Brickz.

Because children will have to stay within their pod/group, the activities will be decided in a way that gives everyone equal opportunity to take part in activities they enjoy. This system worked very well during the Easter and Whitun holidays.

We open our doors each morning at 8.30am. Until 9.30am, all children will participate in supervised free play with a number of sporty activities, table games, art and lego available. At 9.30 am we then sit down together, introduce the coaches, go over some important rules and then start organising the children into activities.

Don’t worry if you arrive after this time. Children will fit immediately into groups whatever time they arrive.

Due to the Covid-19 protective measures in place, children will already be organised into groups/pods on arrival.

The group coach will have a quick chat each morning and go over some important rules. During this chat, the children will have an opportunity to discuss what kind of activities they would like to take part in. The coach will have a flexible session plan for each day that can be altered to ensure each day is crammed full of a variety of fun activities that appeals to all of the group.

Following a short warm up, the group will begin their first activity, whether it be a sporty game like cricket, football or dodgeball, a creative arty project, or perhaps a brick building activity such as Lego, Kapla or Knex.

Groups will stop for a mid morning snack usually at about 11.00am for 20 minutes. However, due to the current need for social distancing, these breaks will be staggered between groups.

Following this snack, the group will then begin more activities that will continue until lunch time.

Lunch break during the Summer will be staggered between groups sitting down to eat at either 12.30pm, 1.00pm or 1.30pm. Children are expected to sit for 30 minutes to eat their lunch.

After 30 minutes we then give the children a further period of free play that they love. A selection of sports equipment will be available again, plus some easy art and boxes of lego. Each pods/groups coach will continue to supervise throughout this period of free play.

Our organised activities end at 4.30pm at which time children will then go back into supervised free play within their pods/groups until they are collected.

Once more a selection of games, art, lego, table football and other activities will be available for the children to play with.

All parents on arrival should make their way directly to the drop off/collection desk where they will be required to sign out their child(ren).
